Do you think Bob Griese and Rick Norton can carry the team at

We will try to pick up a third
quarterback immediately. However, I thought Bob Griese did a fine job for us.

What did you think of safetyman Tom Beier's first game as a starter?

Beier played darned well, made some key tackles and a big
interception. I like his attitude and he has a good football mind.

With two fine runners like Abner Haynes and Joe Auer, why do you
alternate them and use Sam Price, who is virtually a rookie, at fullback?

Price is just now coming into his own as a power runner. You
must also realize that he is a tremendous blocker on those pitchouts from our quarterback to either Auer or Haynes. We think Haynes and Auer are more effective
when they can be alternated, because that way they also can run back punts
and kickoffs.
