Why aren’t you using Rick Norton instead of Bob Griese? — Richard Bernard, 2121 NW 93rd St.

Griese has developed as fast as I’ve ever seen any rookie come along. He has a chance, with luck and barring injury, to become one of the fine quarterbacks in pro football. Norton has excellent potential, too, but his progress has been slowed by injuries. Remember that both these quarterbacks are new to pro football and Judge them accordingly.

After looking at your game films, did you notice any clipping on Kansas City's part that wasn't called? — William Berry, 19730 NW 12th Ct.

There are always a few things overlooked on both sides because officials do not have eyes in back of their heads. But by and large these breaks even up. How would you like to have been Pete Beathard when he ran into an official and fumbled the ball on his 16-yard line Sunday? What if the score had been close at the time? Officials are only human.

Why aren’t you using Frank Jackson more often, since he is one of your better players? — Bruce Hufford, 630 West 72nd PI. Hialeah.

We've been rotating Jackson with Jack Clancy, as we've been doing with Karl Noonan and Howard Twilley at split end, and Doug Moreau and Preston Carpenter at strong-side end. Jackson had as much playing time as Clancy Sunday. Besides, how can you quarrel with Clancy’s performance, five catches for 67 yards?

Who called the play when Joe Auer lost the ball, you or Rick Norton? Also, why were you trying to run up the middle? — Dan Cunefare, 550 West 76th St. Hialeah.

No matter who called the play, it would have been a beauty if Auer had scored, wouldn’t it? We were running up the middle because that was the game plan, throwing outside and running inside. Needless to add, it didn’t work out.
