Ida Marie Griese

Ida Marie Griese, 87, of Evansville, died at 7:35 p.m. on Tues­day, January 21, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Cen­ter.

 She was born in Evansville on February 19, 1915, and was married to Sylverius H. "Slick" Griese until his death in 1955. Ida devoted her life to her chil­dren, grandchildren and her faith in God and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Surviving are her three chil­dren, William J, Griese of Santa Claus, Indiana, Robert A. Griese of Tequesta, Florida, and Joyce Zachary of Concord, Cali­fornia; seven grandchildren, Scott, Jeff, Brian David, Kelly and Brian Joseph Griese, and Jim and Kevin Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Renee' and Claire Griese; and a special caregiver, Diane.

Mrs. Griese attended St. Joseph Grade School and grad­uated from Memorial High School in 1933. She worked at Herman's Candy Store and lat­er operated S.H. Griese Plumb­ing Company after her hus­band’s death. She then worked for Telesis Corporation and as­sisted in the management of Campus Apartments on the west side of Evansville.

Services will be on Tuesday, January 28, at 9:30 a.m. at Good   Shepherd Catholic Church, with Fr. Ted Tempel of­ficiating.

Visitation will be on Mon­day, January 27, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. He-bron Avenue, and continued on Tuesday, January 28, from 9 a.m. until service time at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or the Judith A. Griese Foundation in care of Bill Griese, P.O. Box 376, Santa Claus, Ind. 47579
